Article : Embed your furniture in a photo or camera image

It's not augmented reality yet, but it sure looks like it.... Regular users of the bespoke furniture configurator may have noticed the recent appearance of two new buttons on the 3D view:

Your furniture embedded in a photo

The first button simply allows you to select an image from your hard drive. This image will then be used as the background image for the 3D display of your bespoke furniture: by adjusting the position and orientation of the 3D model with the mouse, you can display your furniture as if it were part of the photo!

On your tablet, your furniture embedded in the camera image

On your computer, but especially on your Android tablet or iPad running iOS 8, you can do even better: one click on 

 will trigger your camera's video stream. Your browser will ask you for authorisation, usually at the top of the screen:

Once your authorisation has been granted, the image of your webcam will be displayed at the bottom of the 3D rendering area! You can then move your camera around until you find an interesting point of view. You can, of course, adjust the 3D model at the same time on the touch screen.

Once you've obtained a camera angle that suits you, click 

 to freeze the image. You can repeat the process as often as necessary.
