In this article, we give you one tip per room, all of which have already been used by our customers, in order to show you the different possible functions of the sliding shelf always with the aim of optimising the interior layout of your furniture.

Various options are available in our configurator for your sliding shelf: its position can be on the frontor on the wall, you can add a rear anti-drop panel but also a front anti-drop edge to secure the objects you decide to store there. Depending on the size, this also helps to stiffen your entire piece of furniture.

How the sliding shelf makes a desk functional:

The sliding shelf is ideal on a desk. It allows you to accommodate your accessories such as your keyboard or papers while allowing more space on your worktop if you don't want to clutter it up or if your work surface is quite small. It immediately makes adesk functional. We advise you not to add a front anti-drop edge to it so that it doesn't get in the way of your arms when using the shelf.

In a dressing room, a sliding shelf is a practical and ergonomic storage solution:

Within a dressing room, a sliding shelf has several advantages. Firstly, unlike a shelf, the sliding shelf can be fully extended. This means you can grab your items much more easily. What's more, it allows you to use the full depth of your furniture and therefore make better use of the space while still being easy to access.

For some of your clothes and accessories, the sliding shelf can prove to be the most efficient layout. For example, if you decide to make a shoe storage unit, it's best to opt for the sliding shelf, which will allow you to store and access them quickly without needing a lot of height space. The same goes for accessories like sunglasses and jewellery. The sliding shelf will allow you to store them in depth while still being able to reach them easily. It is therefore a totally ergonomic and functional internal storage unit, ideal for a dressing room.

Its unexpected function within a bedroom:

If you still want to optimise your space within your bedroom, you can add a sliding shelf to the dressing room or then to the headboard that you make to measure using the DessineTonMeuble configurator. In this case, the sliding shelf serves as a bedside table that you can simply push open for easy storage. This type of arrangement means you don't have to take up floor space in your bedroom and you can move around easily. Thisdiscreet sliding bedside table makes it very easy to save space.

How the sliding shelf makes your living room more comfortable:

On a TV cabinet, the sliding shelf lets you store: internet box, DVD player, games console, remote controls... In a totally functional way. Firstly, you'll be able to access your devices easily without pulling the wires or having to remove them completely, as is the case with a fixed shelf. With the sliding shelf, all you have to do is pull it out to gain access to all its contents as well as the back of your devices where the stop and start buttons are usually located. We also recommend adding front and rear anti-drop edges to make the arrangement of your appliances completely safe.

A simple and practical trick in a kitchen thanks to the sliding shelf:

The sliding shelf proves to be a very practical arrangement within your kitchen furniture. Thanks to it, you can place your computer or tablet on it to make recipes without risking damaging your electronic devices. The sliding shelf also allows you to place your dishes on it while they're being prepared so as not to clutter up your worktop.

Within each room, the sliding shelf can have its uses. There are many other features, so it's up to you to find the one that suits you.
